Isabella: Girl in Charge
This is a story (but a non-Disney story!) about a little girl named Isabella. Isabella changes her name to Susanna and becomes a mayor of a town in Kansas! She also changes her name several other times (for example, Jeannette) and assumes other leadership positions, such as a Congresswoman. Isabella uses her imagination and becomes many different kinds of leaders, all the way up to a Supreme Court judge! The illustrations in this book are fun and keep the reader interested in the character and the action of the story. What I really liked about this book is that a little girl sees herself as accomplishing great things and assuming great roles of leadership to help others. I have read other books in the Isabella series, and I love how she imagines herself to be lots of different characters and even real people. It is interesting to learn about the many different ways a girl could grow up to be a leader. Of all the different roles that Isabella played in this book, I think I would most like to be a cabinet member.
