Devlin meets her friend from England, Liza, at the front of the library. But Liza is upset because she thinks she saw a man cut a page out of a book. Devlin and Liza try to follow the man, but he goes away too quickly. However, Devlin was able to get a picture of the man, though it wasn’t very good. They try to identify him, but all they come up with is a picture of a rodent. They go home to try to work things out and they come up with a plan: their friend will see if he can find where the page was cut out. But the friend finds nothing. Will Liza and Devlin solve the mystery of the missing page?

This book was exciting in some parts and boring in other parts. It is a good story, but there are other books that I am reading that are more exciting and interesting. But it is okay if you don’t have anything else to read. Devlin is a likable character, but she is kind of stubborn. It never says anywhere that she likes being a detective, but her mother is the head of the police, so maybe that is why she wants to solve mysteries.
