Green Queen (Kylie Jean)

Kylie Jean lives in Texas. It is very close to Earth Day, so she asks some of her friends what they should do for it. Her friend Paula said they should remake their playground because it was a real mess. After they did this they heard some news that they needed to make their town really clean with lots of trees and gardens because the VIPs were going to come and see which was the prettiest town in Texas. Everyone wanted their town to be better so they took showers instead of baths, turned off the water when they brushed their teeth, and rode their bikes and didn’t drive their cars very often. Kylie Jean wanted her grandma to be the new Garden Club president. They were invited to this really big party and it turned out that her grandma was really going to be the president, and it was the prettiest town in Texas, so they put up a sign.

I like this book a lot, but it’s kind of gross how Kylie Jean shares her ice cream with her dog. I like Kylie Jean and her friends. This book is really about friendship, but it is also about taking care of the Earth. I liked the things Kylie Jean did to make her town nice and how she helped her grandma become the Garden Club president.
