Green Dinosaur Pancakes
A little boy named Kole goes to visit his grandma’s house. Kole thinks Grandma’s house is magical. Grandma made Kole green dinosaur pancakes for breakfast. From his plate rose a giant t-rex, a stegosaurus, and a brachiosaurus, and a pterodactyl flew around the kitchen, full of syrup. The dinosaurs started to fight and made a mess of Kole’s plate. Next time Grandma makes breakfast, Kole must eat his green dinosaur pancakes before they can fight.
I really liked Green Dinosaur Pancakes because it is a fun idea for a book. I like making my family pancakes, but I have never tried to make them green. The author explains at the back of the book that her grandpa had the idea of making green dinosaur pancakes, and it has become a family tradition. Usually around Christmas we have a family tradition of making Rudolph pancakes with a raspberry nose. I think this book is special because it is about the author’s family tradition. I really like the colors and illustrations, which show the pancakes turning into dinosaurs. I would recommend this book to little boys and girls who have a great imagination.
