Gary
There’s a pigeon named Gary, and Gary is pretty much like all the other pigeons, and he always thinks of adventures. And he likes to adventure, but he can’t fly. One day he accidentally falls into the traveling basket, the sending basket, when he falls out of the loft. He is taken to the City. Then he looks in his scrapbook and feels not lost very much anymore. He realizes the symbols in the city were the ones in his scrapbook, and so he is able to find his way home. And all the other pigeons were sometimes exactly like Gary!
This book is fun because Gary is a very adventurous bird, and, even though he can’t fly, he finds a way to have the adventures that he wants to have. The pictures are really cute, especially the pictures of Gary, who wears a funny little striped hat that is different from the other pigeons. My favorite picture shows Gary and all the other pigeons riding on the bus! You will like this book because you can see how you can do what you want to even if you are different from everyone else.
