Fly Guy Presents: The White House
This is a book that tells kids about the White House, which is a house in Washington, D.C., where the President lives. In this book, Fly Guy and his friend Buzz take us on a tour of the White House. We learn about some of the presidents who’ve lived there, like Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. We also learn about the structure of the White House. For example, where the East Room is and that a prom has been held there! The illustrations in this book are made up of paintings mixed with photographs. For example, there is a picture of Buzz standing next to a photograph of President Johnson.
One thing about this book that I really liked was the picture of a president with a fly on his forehead! Uh oh! Another thing that I liked was learning about ghosts in the White House. For example, Abraham Lincoln’s ghost is said to haunt the Lincoln Room, where he slept. There wasn’t anything about this book that I didn’t like. I think that kids ages 5 – 10 who like history and visiting important places would really like this book.
