Earth’s Got Talent (How to Be an Earthling)
This book is all about courage. Some of the main characters are Jo Jo, Newton Miller, and Grace Hanford. In this book, a character named Spork comes down to Earth and his spaceship crashes down. Spork becomes friends with several people from Earth and he has several adventures in other books like Spork out of Orbit and Greetings, Sharkling! I think I would like to read those books about Spork, too. In this story, there is a talent show, which is something that I enjoy. I have been in two talent shows!
One thing I really loved about this book was when Grace sings in front of people. I didn’t care for the question, “Why can’t Earth chickens fly?” The illustrations in this book are bright, but don’t have any colors. Even though there weren’t colors, I still really liked the illustrations in this book. One of the quotes that I liked was, “I’m going to play the clarinet,” by Newton Miller.
Readers who are boys or girls 8 to 12 years old who like adventure would enjoy this book.
