Boredom Buster (Lonely Planet Kids)
The book has dice. It’s fun. You flip the pages and see what the dice in the left corner of the page is. I Spy would be easiest to play with things inside the car. I did good enough on the memory test. The story starters are great. “Toy Boat” is my favorite tongue twister. I think everything would fall off the checkers on a bumpy road. Bingo is fun in the car. The optical illusions are good. Maze Chase is great. You play it with a friend. You race to the inside. (I won.) Sleepwalk makes me a little sleepy. Flick Tennis might not work well in the car. I like Odds or Evens as much as Rock, Paper, Scissors.
This book is fun. There’s enough stuff to do if you are by yourself but it helps if you have a friend. There’s a good variety of activities. A lot of the activities can be done in boring places. Some of these activities you can do again and again. The riddles and memorizing puzzles, you’d have to wait a while to do them again. I recommend this book for kids who are going on a trip, who can read or who have parents who can read directions to them.
