Blatantly Honest: Normal Teen, Abnormal Life

This book was about Makaila’s teenage life and the troubles she went through, but she persevered and got through it. As you get farther in the book, she tells you about how to handle relationships, bullying, and drugs. She tells you how important it is to have friends who encourage you to do good and how you should have friends who help you grow in life. I thought the book was really good at explaining how you should go through tough times. She tells you how much you should love your parents because of how much they love you. She said how if your friends judge you because of how you look they are not true friends. She also said you don’t have to dress, act, or think like other people. She said just be you, and if they judge you just stay away from them. The language of this book was very good, especially since it was written by an eighteen-year-old. The references were believable and accurate. I would definitely recommend this book if you want to know that you’re not alone in this journey.
