Beauty and the Beast
There was an old man with three daughters. Two of them complained constantly because they were poor. But the youngest, whose name was Beauty, liked to sing and be cheerful. One day, the father had to take a trip, and he asked his daughters which gift they wanted. The two oldest girls said they wanted emerald necklaces because they were greedy. Beauty only asked for a rose.
The father got lost in a storm and ended up sleeping at a stone castle in the forest. When the storm was over, he found a rose for Beauty and plucked it. A terrible beast yelled at him for taking the rose! In exchange for stealing his rose, the Beast made the man promise to bring one of his daughters to be a servant in his house forever. Because she loves her father, Beauty volunteers to be the servant.
Will Beauty help the Beast not be so lonely? Will they be friends? Can she fall in love with a hideous Beast?
The pictures in the book are very pretty. But don’t worry, the Beast is not too scary-looking!
