Ashes in the Sky is about a girl named Jessica. Many people like to call her Jess. She wants to become a photographer, but her dad said that she should do something that would be useful like soccer or kickball. On the other hand, her mom would want her to do what she wants to do. Unfortunately, her mom died in an accident so now all that Jess has is her Dad.

In the beginning, she had just come back from Mars. She was trying to save the world from an alien invasion. She was in a limo with her dad and a woman named Elaine. They were getting ready to have a press conference in her school auditorium.

After the press conference, Jess and her dad went to a party at her best friend’s house. All Jess wanted to do was go home and focus on her classes. When they got there, her best friend, Maggie, and her family had a birthday party for Jess.

A few days later, someone named Poseidon wanted to take pictures of a spaceship. Her dad didn’t want her to go because he doesn’t want to lose her again, but she went anyway with an alien named Nematali.

There were many weird things on the ship. For example, there weren’t any doors. They turned into liquid. Then you could walk through them.

This is the second time Jess has been on a spaceship. Last time, she almost got killed multiple times. Fortunately, she met an alien named David last time. She wanted to see David again, but Nematali said she couldn’t.

David probably wanted to see Jess too, but David was going though a type of surgery that made him look human. It wasn’t dangerous, just painful. Jess thought it was sad that he had to go through this.

Find out what happens to David and Jess when you read the book! I like this book because it has action, it’s adventurous, and funny!
